DNIS

DNIS

DNIS (Dialed Number Identification Service) refers to the telephone service that acts as an identifier for the receiver of a call; it is the number that the caller dialed.

This is a common feature of 800 and 900 lines. If you have multiple 800 or 900 numbers going to the same destination, the DNIS will tell which number was called.
